RISE and the NFL hosted their third annual Super Bowl Town Hall on Friday, Feb. 2, featuring NFL players and executives discussing lessons learned from the activist athlete this season with a focus on what’s coming next. The event, “The Next Play: Best Practices for Using Sports to Improve Race Relations,” was in the Super Bowl Media Center at Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. Panelists were Seth DeValve, tight end, Cleveland Browns; Rashad Jennings, retired NFL running back; Josh McCown, quarterback, New York Jets; Scott Pioli, assistant general manager, Atlanta Falcons; Michael Thomas, safety, Miami Dolphins; Jim Trotter, NFL reporter, ESPN; Troy Vincent, executive vice president of football operations, NFL; and Benjamin Watson, tight end, Baltimore Ravens. RISE CEO Jocelyn Benson moderated the panel, which was hosted by retired wide receiver and linebacker Ron Johnson II, football analyst, Fox 9.
